Who we are

A congregational gathering.

We are Kerem HaShem — KH for short — a community of Jewish and Gentile believers, rooted in Torah, in Jewish tradition and in the teachings of the Messiah. Our leadership and most of our congregation believe Jesus (ישוע) was the promised Messiah. Different views are openly discussed here, and all are welcome. We are not Evangelical: We are a Messianic Jewish congregation, and Jewish life and Torah stand at the center of who we are. Christians are warmly welcome to join us and learn: to worship, to fellowship and to study Torah together with the community.

      About our beliefs

      A Messianic Jewish congregation.

Our faith is rooted in the Torah, in Jewish tradition and in the teachings of the Messiah — continuing the life of the early Jewish believers.

      Our roots and practice

We trace our spiritual roots to the Jerusalem Council and to the path of Peter, James and John: attending the synagogue, living as Jews and continuing in Jewish communal life. We fully embrace the Torah and the traditions preserved in Conservative and Orthodox Jewish practice to this day.

      Faith by free choice

Most of our congregation believes that Jesus (ישוע) is the Messiah, although some of our members await a messiah yet to come. These differences are welcomed and openly discussed. Every person is encouraged to examine their beliefs, to ask honest questions, and to choose for themselves.

      Jewish life, lived faithfully

At Kerem HaShem, Jewish life is practiced with devotion: the Torah studied, the traditions kept, the Sabbath honored together. Teaching is our calling — we help people where they are in life and give everyone a sound foundation on which to make their own informed decisions. A small number of congregations in the United States share this path, and similar communities are forming in other parts of the world. We stand alongside the Jewish people in everything we do, and we live faithfully according to what we believe is right.

      Questions & answers

      What to expect.

For anyone gathering with us for the first time: answers to common questions, in our own words.

We call our place a congregational gathering — KH for short — a community of Jewish and Gentile believers, rooted in Torah, in Jewish tradition and in the teachings of the Messiah.

Everyone is welcome — Jewish and Gentile. Christians are warmly welcome to join us and learn: to worship, to fellowship and to study Torah together with the community. Visitors may share in everything for as long as they wish, simply as they are, walking their own path.

The 9:00–10:00 AM prayers are in Hebrew. The rest of the morning is open to everyone, whatever your background.

We pray from the Koren Shalem Siddur.

The morning begins with communal prayer, followed at 10:00 AM by the Torah family service — a family-centered gathering devoted to Torah. After the service, the oneg begins: generous food, warm conversation, and the kind of fellowship that lingers.

Prayers run 9:00–10:00 AM and the Torah family service 10:00–11:30 AM, with the oneg to follow. You are welcome for all or part of the morning.

All of our leadership believe that Jesus (ישוע) was the Messiah.

Beliefs about Jesus (ישוע) differ within our congregation, and that difference is welcomed and openly discussed. Most believe Jesus (ישוע) was the Messiah who came and will return; others await a messiah yet to come. Everyone is encouraged to examine, to ask honest questions and to choose for themselves.

Saturday services are streamed live on our Facebook page, and past teachings are kept on our YouTube channel — so you can join the gathering from wherever you are.

There is no formal membership roll or dues at Kerem HaShem. Those who have been part of the community for a long time and call this congregation their home are simply regarded as members — belonging grows naturally through shared prayer, learning and community life.

      Watch & study

      Gathered together, near and far.

Our Saturday services are streamed live on Facebook, and recordings of past teachings are kept on our YouTube channel.

      Livestream

Join the Saturday service live on our Facebook page — a way to be part of the gathering when you cannot make it to Clarksville in person.

The announcements are shared in person at the gathering rather than on the stream, as part of the fellowship itself — another good reason to come join us in Clarksville and stay connected to everything happening in the community.

      Youth

      Growing up in Torah.

Our teens are part of the gathering — learning, celebrating, and laughing right alongside the rest of us. The young ones keep things lively around here, and there's always room for one more.

The happiest corner of the room

Teens ages 12 and up have an active youth program: Torah learning, activities, and fellowship together. And when the oneg starts, come pull up a chair — the teens will be glad to welcome one more.

      Little ones are loved here

Younger children are always welcome to sit with their families during the service. We don't have a separate children's program right now, but little ones are part of the gathering, just as they are.

We would love to start a children's program in the future — there may be something on the horizon, though we just don't know yet. For now, nothing is in place, and we wanted to be honest about that.

New to Kerem HaShem? Come say hello on Saturday morning and meet the crew — or call (931) 292-2384 to hear what's coming up for the youth.

      Visitor information

Visitors are warmly welcome to worship with us, to share in fellowship and to enjoy all our events, for as long as they wish — simply as they are, walking their own path. Some remain with us for years; others join a synagogue while still returning to pray with us. All are welcome to learn and grow with the community for as long as they choose.

Teaching is at the heart of our purpose: We help each person build a sound foundation of knowledge on which to make their own informed decisions. Those who wish to pursue formal conversion are gladly given guidance and referred to a nearby synagogue.

Those who have been part of the community for a long time and call this congregation their home are simply regarded as members; this recognition grows naturally through shared prayer, learning and community life.
